Lake County car accident sends 5 to hospital

A car accident in Lake County earlier this week sent five people to the hospital. One transported was in critical condition. The accident involved just one vehicle, a 2013 Kia Rio. The Rio went off the road and struck a tree, according to the Lake County Sheriff's Office.

What to know if you're injured while going to or from work

Getting in an accident while you are traveling to, from or for work can prove to be a more complicated situation than you expect. Not only are you dealing with the painful injuries that can be suffered in any accidents, but you can also be confronted with what, if any, compensation is available for damages, which can also include lost wages.

The ABCs of your personal injury case

Accidents can happen any time, anywhere. Sometimes they are due to our own negligence, such as tripping over a shoe you left lying on the bedroom floor. Other times, they happen because someone else was negligent. For example, imagine driving to work when a driver runs a red light and T-bones you in the middle of an intersection. You did nothing wrong. The light turned green and you started to accelerate. The other driver was either speeding and could not stop or was not paying attention and did not see the red light. Either way, you are now injured due to someone else's reckless behavior.

Drunk driving takes another Chicago resident’s life

Unfortunately, it has become far too common to see news reports in which a Chicago resident has died because of a drunk driver. It has happened once again, this time killing a 55-year-old woman and injuring three other women riding in the car.

Know what duties and responsibilities your landlord holds

Chicago residents who rent or lease a home sometimes feel they are at the mercy of their landlords. In a lived-in home, things can malfunction or simply stop working due to ordinary wear and tear. Often, this presents safety hazards to those who reside on the premises.
